Britney Spears est née le 2 décembre 1981 en Louisiane.

Elle a commencé sa carrière à 8 ans après avoir auditionné à Atlanta pour le Club Mickey de Disney Channel. Elle était trop jeune pour cette émission, mais un des producteurs l'a remarquée et l'a recommandée à un agent de New York. Elle a alors passé ses trois étés suivants à New York pour suivre les cours du Centre de Danse off-Broadway et les cours de l'Ecole de comédie (Professional Performing Arts School). Ses efforts n'ont pas été vains puisqu'en 1991, elle parvient à décrocher un rôle dans un spectacle de Broadway.
